Blue Wave Exterior Cleaning
If your deck used to be the star of every BBQ, but now you're afraid to show it off, we can bring it back to life with less cost/hassle than rebuilding or re-staining it. Our deck restoration services involves two steps:
Deep Cleaning: We remove years worth of dirt, algae, and grime to restore your deck’s natural beauty.
Chemical Restoration: We use specialized solutions to remove greying, lighten your deck, and bring back the wood's natural glow.
You'll know that it's time to get your deck cleaned once it becomes slippery or darkens, turning a green or dark brown colour. In dryer areas, greying can also be a good sign that it's time for a deck cleaning.
We deliver expert care for stunning results. Book your service today!
Summary: Blue Wave Exterior Cleaning Inc. offers deck cleaning in Niagara Falls, St.Catharines, Welland, Port Colborne, and surrownding areas. Deck cleaning is a safe process that involves the careful use of medium pressure in addition to chemical cleaning, and an acid treatment to remove greying and restore a deck's luster.
FAQ
It certainly can, that's why both our brightening process and our lightening process are largely chemical dependent. We use a bit of pressure (from a distance and using a wide fan tip) to dislodge stubborn grime, but we don't leave lines, grooves, or any other damage.
Yes! We are happy to work on decks made of plastic, composite, etc. The process is a bit different, but the results are still great.
We generally ask that you move as much as possible off of your deck before we arrive. That being said, we also understand that it might not always be possible to remove things like bolted down gazebos, natural gas BBQs, etc. We will do our absolute best to work around these items.
It certainly could, depending on the state of your varnish. If it's already flaking or failing, there is a real chance that a cleaning will have a negative impact on your varnish.
No, we don't offer any repair/carpentry services but can recommend the services of Green Acres Total Yard Care for building decks and fences https://www.greenacrestotalyardcare.net/
It's easy to damage wood if you're not experienced. Many homeowners find that they've left lines on their deck after a DIY cleaning. This happens because they:
Use too much pressure or too narrow of a nozzle: Consumer grade pressure washers don't provide much flow, so to compensate, they often use narrow nozzles. These are the wrong choice for cleaning wood. In contrast, our truck mounted pressure washer puts out about 7.5 gallons of water per minute whereas an electric model will put out about 1-2 gallons per minute.
Go against the Grain: pressure should only be applied with the grain, and even then, should be used sparingly.
Stop midway through cleaning a board: This causes "stop marks" which look like short lines perpendicular to the grain.
Deck Cleaning pairs well with a house wash or pressure washing of surrownding concrete.
